The companies will serve their broker partners as Excess Underwriting operated by Towerhill Insurance Underwriters Inc., said a joint press release signed by Towerhill Insurance president and CEO George Longo and Excess Underwriting president Norman Lai. The Excess Underwriting operations will add a new office to Towerhill’s footprint in Ontario, the release said. Excess Underwriting will remain in its Markham location, with Towerhill’s office in Mississauga. “The Excess Underwriting management team under Norman Lai as president remains the same to ensure continuity of services and expertise that our broker partners have always come to expect,” the release said. “By aligning the two teams of professionals, the new entity will offer our broker partners the utmost services and exceptional insurance products to help them further develop their business.” Both Towerhill and Excess Underwriting offer a range of managing general agent insurance products, including both commercial property and liability risks. The combined teams will offer a range of insurance products underwritten by Lloyd’s of London, “plus new products available in the new year,” the release said. According to its website, Towerhill’s products and services include general commercial property & liability, construction risks, specialty commercial lines, professional liability, environmental liability, personal lines, cyber liability and national business programs. Excess Underwriting offers homeowner, rented dwelling, vacant dwelling, tenants and condo unit owners coverage under personal lines and commercial, general liability and professional liability products.
