When eDocs are used to their full potential, sending, receiving, sorting, scanning and destroying paper is no longer necessary, “saving the industry significant amounts of time and money,” CSIO said in a statement. “We are very pleased to take this next step at improving our technology options for our brokers,” said Tracy MacDonald, Trillium Mutual’s vice president of corporate services. “As more companies offer eDocs, the brokers’ processes and workflows change, so it is important for us as a company to be able to support and contribute to our brokers’ efficiencies.” MacDonald noted in the statement that Listowel, Ont.-based Trillium Mutual also recently broadened its eDocs options to include farm and commercial policy documents. “This will assist our broker partners in expanding their operational efficiencies in these lines of business as well,” she said. “It is encouraging to see more mutual companies obtaining CSIO certification for eDocs because it demonstrates a commitment to efficient customer service,” added Normand Lafrenière, president of the Canadian Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. “I congratulate Trillium on this achievement and I look forward to seeing more mutuals obtain this important certification.” CSIO certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors, and more information is available at csio.com/csio-certification. Brokers can also use the eDocs Savings Calculator to determine their daily, monthly and yearly savings in time and money from adopting eDocs. CSIO, which maintains offices in Toronto and Montreal, is Canada’s industry technology association of property and casualty insurers, software providers and over 35,000 brokers. It oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of technology standards and solutions such as eDocs, Telematics, eDelivery and eSignatures, and operates CSIOnet, a “secure, industry-owned platform for the efficient exchange of policy information for the broker channel.” With over 135 years of experience in the agricultural insurance industry, Trillium Mutual offers farm, commercial, residential, auto, cyber and data compromise products.
