Archway Insurance, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest brokerages, has moved into Saint John, N.B. with the acquisition of Hall & Fairweather Insurance, effective Monday.

The Hall & Fairweather office expands independent brokerage Archway’s footprint in New Brunswick and gives the brokerage the ability to provide local service to new and existing clients in Saint John and the surrounding areas, Archway Insurance CEO Michael Stacks said in a press release Monday.

The latest acquisition brings the number of Archway locations to 25, with approximately $115 million in premium volume and 60,000 clients.

“We are thrilled that Andrew Campbell and his entire team will join Archway, ensuring a smooth transition with no change in service for Hall & Fairweather clients,” Stack said.

By joining forces with Archway, clients of Hall & Fairweather will benefit from more commercial insurance options, along with adding life, travel, and employee benefits products. Access to all of Archway’s insurance companies will also provide more options for personal insurance clients.

Hall & Fairweather is an independent brokerage that sells products focusing on auto, homeowner’s and business insurance. Since the 1990s, the customer base has expanded throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Hall & Fairweather’s president Andrew Campbell noted both brokerages are family businesses “where the core values of integrity, respect, pride and providing excellent customer service have been passed down through the generations. Therefore, we see this transaction to be a ‘win-win’ situation not only for both companies but also for our clients as we will be able to provide them exposure to a new portfolio of insurance products to protect what matters most to them and their families.”

Archway has made a number of acquisitions recently. On Aug. 1, 2018, Archway acquired J.H. Deveau Insurance in Meteghan, N.S. In May of last year, Archway joined forced with Bay Insurance & Financial, located in Tantallon, N.S.
