Of the total car insurance quotes completed online at kanetix.ca in 2006, almost 20% included at least one accident during the past ten years.Researchers at kanetix.ca, an online service offering automobile insurance quotes to Canadians in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, found that a higher percentage of quotes included an accident than a ticket (only 16% of quotes included at least one ticket), a kanetix release says. When comparing from province to province, kanetix found that:18% of drivers in both Ontario and Quebec had at least one accident;17% of Alberta drivers had at least one accident;14% of drivers in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia had at least one accident; and 12% of PEI drivers included at least one accident. The results, says a kanetix statement, are not surprising. After all, the provinces with the highest percentage of accidents are also the provinces with the most population, the release says. With more people living in these highly populated provinces, the more drivers there are on the roads and the greater the chance for an accident.
