The Rhodes & Williams Group of Companies has merged with Caiger-Watson Insurance Brokers Ltd.

The latter brokerage will operate under the name of Caiger-Watson Insurance Brokers, a division of Rhodes & Williams Limited. Clients of Caiger-Watson will continue to be served by the long-time staff they have gotten to know over the years, but will now have the backing of a large insurance broker group.

The merger, effective Sept. 1, was announced Wednesday. Caiger-Watson has been serving the Ottawa area since 1961. Rhodes & Williams has offices in Ottawa, North Gower (now part of Ottawa) and nearby Rockland, Ont.

“Deciding to merge our business wasn’t easy,” said Caiger-Watson president Phil Caiger-Watson. “I have every confidence that the clients are in good hands and will continue to receive the professional, friendly service that they have come to expect.”

Rhodes & Williams Limited is an independent personal and commercial brokerage operating out of its main office in Ottawa, but serving clients across Canada. Some of its most recent brokerage mergers include S.M. Hill Insurance, Eric Mclean Insurance Brokers and Cleary & Associates.

Caiger-Watson offers property (home, condo, rentals, tenants and seasonal), vehicle (car, motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, RV and boat), travel, life and mortgage insurance.
