The service is intended to minimize distractions on the road by automatically routing incoming calls to voice mail, allowing the driver to check messages and return calls when its safe to do so, an SGI release explains. While young drivers only make up seven per cent of all licensed drivers in the province, they represent 16% of all distracted drivers in collisions, the release adds. To take advantage of the offer, new drivers will receive an offer letter after they have passed their road test which they have to bring to a SaskTel dealer within 90 days.
