Gore Mutual Insurance received top honours from the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) in their 2006 Rate Your Companies Survey.”We are very proud to be given this honour,” Kevin McNeil, president and CEO of Gore Mutual, said in a statement.”Our employees work very hard to provide brokers and their customers with genuine personal service.”Receiving the first rank in the IBAO survey, McNeil added, “shows us that we are on the right track.”

Lower claims costs and higher investment income has allowed Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) to issue a rebate to its Autopac customers.For the second year in a row, Autopac policyholders will receive a premium rebate, says an MPI release. The cheques, to be mailed this May, will be for 10% of the net premium each customer paid for basic Autopac between March 1, 2005 and February 28, 2006.The average cheque will be for approximately $100.The Public Utilities Board announced the premium rebate in November, 2006. This is the third time in 7 years that customers have received rebates totaling nearly Cdn$200 million.
