New York-based Ironshore Inc. is taking steps to help manage cyber claims for all in-force policies, regardless of line, with the launch of a dedicated computer response team.

Comprised of cyber claims co-ordinators representing each of the insurer’s specialty lines divisions, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-Ironshore) will provide insureds a single point of contact for cyber risk claim co-ordination and collaboration, notes a statement Tuesday from Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual Company that provides broker-sourced specialty p&c insurance coverages for varying risks located throughout the world.

Beyond gaining access to technical advice and support from co-ordinators, the statement notes, third-party expertise will also be available to all policyholders to help manage cyber security risk with selected vendors at pre-negotiated rates.

“CERT-Ironshore reflects our commitment to promoting cyber security situational awareness throughout its entire specialty product lines platform,” Kurtis Suhs, Ironshore’s cyber senior vice president, says in the statement.

“In the event of a cyber-related claim, policyholders will benefit from a co-ordinated claims strategy by accessing co-ordinators and resources with cyber claims handling expertise,” says Mike Mitrovic, global claims officer for Ironshore.

Howard Panensky will serve as director of CERT-Ironshore, reporting to Mitrovic.
